MAGISTIC CRUISES TO DOUBLE SERVICES WITH LAUNCH OF SUPERFLYTE
Blue Line Cruises poised to expand with access to Jetty 6 Circular Quay
May 2002
Blue Line Cruises is poised to double its services when it is given access to Jetty 6, Circular Quay - Sydney's most popular embarkation point for harbour cruises. Magistic Cruises will launch a new Superflyte cruise that allows people the option of stepping on and off at any point plus a new breakfast cruise is to be launched.
"The government policy to open public wharves to fair competition means that all operators will now be able to use this strategic jetty, which will allow us to expand our business quite substantially," said Sudhir Warrier, CEO of Blue Line Cruises.
The Superflyte service aboard the luxury cruiser Magistic I means visitors now have the option of disembarking to explore such key destinations as The Rocks, Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, King Street Wharf or the Botanical Gardens and rejoining the boat later in the day. This is the first time such a service has been offered on a luxury catamaran on Sydney harbour. The Superflyte cruise costs just $22 for adults and includes Australian beer or soft drinks, a one-hour cruise and professional commentary.
"The Superflyte cruise onboard the luxury 24m catamaran is a new innovation in Sydney cruising because it gives passengers a hop-on and hop-off option,' said Mr Warrier. "If people just want to see the sights aboard the vessel they can do a complete circuit in only an hour, which makes this a very efficient option for visitors on a tight schedule. But they can also take their time to explore Sydney's best attractions at their leisure, with the option of rejoining the cruise later in the day.
"The Magistic name is synonymous with luxury vessels that provide a superior cruising experience. The Superflyte service will complement the premium lunch cruise already offered by Magistic II, which has completely revolutionised harbour cruising since being launched in April 2001.
Magistic II boasts the largest open foredeck on the harbour and a completely pillarless interior which means that every guest has an unimpeded view of the dazzling sights. It offers first-class dining with food designed by renowned chef Paul Merrony, which is far superior to the offerings of other cruise operators.
Both Magistic I and Magistic II are available for private charter, offering a quality option for cocktail functions, product launches and memorable meetings. Whether the occasion is intimate, formal or festive, Magistic Cruises play host with imagination and style, offering exceptional nautical design, superior service, exquisite cuisine and outstanding attention to detail. Magistic I has capacity for up to 70 guests while Magistic II can cater for up to 360.
Magistic II is also set to launch a unique 1.5-hour breakfast cruise which includes full hot and cold selections - the perfect setting for your next morning function with a backdrop of the harbour's icons and a spectacular Sydney sunrise
All Magistic Cruises will pick up passengers from Jetty 6 at Circular Quay, as well as from pontoon 5 at King Street Wharf. Cruises range in length from one hour to 2 hours 15 minutes.
